Walk for the Cure

Please join us on at Sawyer Point on May 7, 2011 for Walk MS as we walk for a cure!

Over 2.5 million people fight with MS every day, and we’re determined to do something to help. So come on down to Sawyer Point on May 7, 2011 and join us as we walk for a cure for multiple sclerosis. Registration starts at 8:30 and the walk starts at 9:00. Over 3,000 walkers are expected. And everyone who registers and collects at least $100 for the cause gets a free t-shirt.

WHY?

Moving is Who We Are

Our bodies are in constant motion — moving information from the brain
to the body. But, multiple sclerosis (MS) stops people from moving by
attacking the myelin that protects normal nerve tissue. This damage
keeps people from living smoothly, both inside and out. Every hour in
the United States, someone is newly diagnosed with MS, an unpredictable
and often disabling disease.

Walk to Create a World Free of MS

I have registered for Walk MS to become a part of the powerful movement
that will end MS forever. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society
believes that moving is not just something you can or can’t do
but rather is who you are. That is why they host events like Walk MS —
to raise funds for critical research, as well as comprehensive programs
and services for people with MS — moving us closer to a world free of
MS.

Sponsor Me and Join the Movement

With the support of people like you, the National MS Society is able to
address the challenges of each person whose life is affected by MS and
help them stay connected to the great big moving world. Join the
collective of passionate individuals who want to do something about MS
now by making a contribution to Walk MS on my behalf. Working together,
we can do even more to build a movement by and for people with MS that
will move us closer to a world free of this disease.
